Alden is participating in a grant this year that allows us to use iPads for instruction. In what ways, if any, can we use iPads to enhance our experiences in this particular class?
Are you aware of any apps that would be educationally beneficial? If so, please share them here and provide a brief explanation of the application.

ReplyDeleteAn app that would be useful would be pandora so we can listen to music while blogging... With headphones ofcourse, we will also be more technology inclined
ReplyDeleteI am new to using Apps and don't know many that could be beneficial for English Class. However, Some of the language Apps are really helpful if you're taking French or Spanish for review! IBooks might be helpful in this class because they have a wide variety of reading material to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI personally enjoyed the 3d cell stain app which isn't useful for English class so much I suppose, but if you are a science person like myself then you would in enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThe app allows you to examine different parts of several species of different cells, some alive and some dead, by using a stain to color whatever part you wish to look at.
On a side note the Mad Libs was rather fun too (and more related to English as you practice parts of speech by entering nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc...).
Maybe we could use the iPads to look up information about an author, or a story. Also to look up pictures to help us understand more about a story during a certain time period.

ReplyDeleteI have heard of several apps that allow you to read books on the iPad. I think using this app would be fun because it would allow us to learn in a different way. I also have used the dictionary and thesaurus... These apps are great because they are something you can use fast as a reference and are always helpful.
ReplyDeleteI agree with MadelineK. I am also new to using apps and I rarely use them. I think that it is beneficial for us to be using different technologies.

ReplyDeleteWe can go online, and it's very easy to copy and paste information that is needed. It is always very good to zoom in on picture and papers. Don't know any apps, very difficult.
